Calming Fears with Hypnosis – Can Hypnosis Calm Your Fears?

We all have fears on varying levels, from a mild fear of spiders to an all-out phobia of snakes. While a standard fear my slow you down for a bit, a phobia actually affects how you handle daily life. So the question is can you calm these extreme fears with hypnosis? Calming fears with hypnosis is not something that should be taken lightly, but for some it is a last chance to get on with their lives free of crippling fear. Hypnosis is an old practice, but there is still much about it that is not understood. It should be entered into with caution. Find a respected professional that can give you references if you decide to try this route for getting over your fears.

Calming Fears with HypnosisPut simply, yes calming fears with hypnosis is possible. For some people it can be quite effective. However, our rational minds can block it from working if we are not careful. Hypnosis does not work on everyone, and those with very strong minds are harder to get to succumb to the power of hypnosis. When it comes to fears this is especially true due to the fact that our minds perceive a logical reason for these fears.

Your mind is trying to protect you from some danger, whether real or perceived. It knows how to produce fearful feelings before the issue is even imminent. Your mind knows what sets you off and it know how to use that to get the protective response it desires. The idea behind calming fears with hypnosis is that the rational way to avoid the perceived danger is irrelevant. Hypnosis does not try to change your rational mind. Rather, it works with the part of your mind that deals with reflexes, or actions that you simply do without thinking about them, such as breathing.

Over time, this can be successful in overriding the logical response your mind has come up with. Still, while calming fears with hypnosis is possible, it is not necessarily a sure fix. There are those whose rational mind is too strong to be tricked, so to speak, by hypnosis. If you are a very logical person, it is a fair bet that it will not work for you. If you feel this is the case, seek help from another kind of professional. This should be someone that can help you get to the root of your feelings and help you deal with them. If you think it may work for you, there is certainly no harm finding out for yourself if calming your fears with hypnosis works.
